The Importance of Accreditation in Certification: APCER's Role

Certification plays a fundamental role in guaranteeing the quality, safety and conformity of organizations' products, services and systems.

However, for certification to be reliable and internationally recognized, it is important that certification bodies operate in accordance with strict requirements established by international standards. In this context, accreditation is a guarantee of technical competence and impartiality on the part of certification bodies.

June 9th is International Accreditation Day. One of the main benefits of accreditation for certified organizations is increased confidence and credibility in their products, services and systems. By obtaining a certificate issued by an accredited body such as APCER, organizations are able to tangibly demonstrate their commitment to quality, safety and compliance, which can result in significant competitive advantages in the global marketplace, thus contributing to their long-term success and sustainability.

Accreditation ensures that the certification processes carried out by Certification Bodies are consistent, transparent and impartial, promoting the guarantee of the reliability and integrity of the certificates issued and thus protecting the interests of stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, regulators, society, accreditors, among others.

In short, accreditation plays a fundamental role in the certification activity, guaranteeing recognition of the technical competence, impartiality and integrity of the services provided by APCER as a Certification Body.

APCER is a benchmark organization on the national and international stage in certification activity at a global level. With over 25 years' experience, we are recognized for our commitment to excellence and the quality of our certification services. APCER's credibility is thus reinforced by its accreditations.

In the field of certification of products, services, processes and systems, APCER is accredited by the following Accreditation Bodies, members of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF): Instituto Português de Acreditação (IPAC) - Portugal, Entidad Nacional de Acreditación (ENAC) - Spain, Coordenação Geral de Acreditação do Inmetro (Cgcre) - Brazil, and International Organic Accreditation Service (IOAS) - USA.

APCER is also accredited by the Social Accountability Accreditation Services (SAAS) and Assurance Services International (ASI), exclusive accreditors for some certification schemes.

In addition to the aforementioned accreditations, APCER also holds other recognitions that reinforce its position as a recognized certification body of trust.
