GOTS is a standard applicable to textiles produced from organic fibers. It is internationally recognized and emerged in 2006 with the increase in the consumption of organic fibers and the search for uniform production criteria by the industry and retail sectors.
This standard defines the minimum content of certified organic fibers that must be present in the textile product (at least 70%), prohibits the use of toxic and harmful chemicals, defines environmental criteria and requires compliance with responsibility criteria for the entire supply chain of organic textiles.
It is applicable to the processing, manufacturing, packaging, labelling, trading and distribution of all textiles made from at least 70% certified organic natural fibers.
Organic fiber end products can include, but are not limited to, yarns, fabrics, clothing, home textiles and personal care products. GOTS also covers “Combined Products”, such as baby strollers with textile fabrics, cribs, car seats or furniture with fabric upholstery, which have certified fabric components.
APCER is accredited by IPAC within the scope of product certification, with the certification number C0009. For more information, click here.
